Best Secured Credit Cards With Low Apr
Can my parents do this?
Can my parent open a credit card or a secured credit card account for me? I am not 18 yet and they will pay the bill i just want to know if its legal to open a credit card in their name and add me to it? Also are there any credit/debit cards that can be opened under my name? Whats the best Credit Cards to apply to with low apr?
You will not be able to open a credit card or bank account in solely in your name until you are 18.
Your parents can certainly open an account and add you on as a secondary borrower, they could even add you to an existing account. We did this with our boys to help them learn about credit early on. By the time they turned 18 they had a 720+ credit score.
There are plenty of cards our there with low apr – but this would be something you would want to talk over with your parents. Another option is the credit builder programs offered by a local Credit Union. This offers a bank account, secured credit card and secured signature loan to help build or rebuild credit.
You can find a partial list here – Secrets to Improve Your Credit – http://secretstoimproveyourcredit.blogspot.com/ but you will have to find a local credit union you can become a member of.
Good Luck!
