How bad will a day late payment on a credit affect me?

So this past billing cycle I paid a card online after 5pm (EST). I paid the card balance full at 4pm (PST). How bad and how long will a day late payment on a $10 balance on a gas credit card affect my 5 year old once perfect credit history. I noticed that I got a late fee, which means that it was categorized as late, apparently chevron/texaco Credit Cards have no grace period.

Not at all I should think. But these card companies are sooooo slimy in getting those extra dollars from a person. Exhorbitant interests rates, plus the extra “humongous” fees for overdraft. I always try to pay everything at the end of the month and thus, I pay them nothing in “user” fees.
