Credit Card Balance Transfer and the Financial Ombudsman?
Have a existing credit card with Abbey, applied for a new one that has 13 months 0%. All the way through no one within Abbey told me you can not transfer from Abbey to Abbey. Made a complaint, which they could not fix so I went to the Financial Ombudsman, who are still deliberating, as I am asking Abbey to pay the 13 months interest that I would have saved if the balance transfer was actioned. Has anyone had similar dealings with any credit card company and is there a case history website the the Financial Ombudsman details previous complaints.
unfortunantly cant help much but give you a very small piece of info that might help further down the road. When the FOS does make a decision this is binding upon Abbey but not yourself!!! so if it goes against you keep persuing this matter in the legal courts chances are Abbey will just pay up rather then get all the bad publicity.
