You qualify for an insurance card at your bank, but probably not qualify for a high limit card due to poor FICO score. The first opened my credit card at age 19 was one of those cards with the reasonably high rates and gave as limit from $ 75. I had a limited credit history (a credit card and other high-use collection ACCTS) at the time and my score was as high or low of 300 400's. I paid the fees as soon as they got the first bill yet. At the time I felt that the payment of all expenses for a credit card was needed to increase my credit score or history. It was probably a good idea though Who knows how long it took to improve my score enough to qualify for better cards. I was approved for a Bank of America card unsecured $ 500 for 6 months after it opened the other card.
