I have 18 years, have never applied for credit. but keep getting turned down when making a phone contract!? Hi, Im 18 and have never had a loan or something. I recently tried apply for a mobile phone contract, but was unsuccessful. I live in the house with my parents and I know that they have a bad credit rating, but from what I've read this should not affect mine. Does anyone have any idea why I keep getting rejected? Ps. phones 4 u man said that sometimes orange you need to take a sim only contract, first for 3 months to build his record, but I was also in this fruitless, I was very surprised, and said just happens. please help! ATTENTION – I have no intention of having a credit card. because although the responses are very helpful!
The problem is not their parents but the fact they have no credit history so they can not see if you would be a good payer or not. The only answer is to have a credit card for three months or less. Pay it off each month so you can cut.
