I just moved to the U.S. from Canada and I am not able to get a credit card.?

Hello everyone! I just moved to the U.S. from Canada and I can not get a credit card (in short, I have no credit history in the U.S.). The best offer I've had is a secured credit card. I thought that Master Card and / or Visa can take a look at my FICO concerned Canada Credit Card American, but it seems impossible.
